US Airways Express Begin Newport Service

US Airways Express will introduce daily nonstop roundtrip service between Newport News, Va., and New York LaGuardia airport, beginning on April 6, 2003. The new service will use 37-seat Dash 8 turboprop aircraft operated by US Airways Express carrier Piedmont Airlines.

“This new service links Southern Virginia area customers to a key business and leisure destination, New York City,” said Andrew P. Nocella, US Airways vice president of planning and scheduling. “We are pleased to offer our Newport News customers this expanded access to the Northeast.”


With the new schedule, US Airways Express will serve four destinations from Newport News, offering daily nonstop service to Charlotte, N.C., Norfolk/Virginia Beach, Va., Philadelphia and New York LaGuardia.


US Airways, US Airways Express and US Airways Shuttle currently operate 196 flights at New York LaGuardia airport, offering customers nonstop daily departures to 34 destinations.
