United/Lufthansa on Sale Through March

United Airlines (NYSE: UAL) and Lufthansa today announced a winter sale with attractive fares between the United States and Europe, the Mideast and Africa.
“United is teaming with our Star Alliance partner Lufthansa to provide affordable fares and excellent service to more than 120 destinations throughout Europe, the Mideast and Africa,” said Chris Bowers, senior vice president-sales and reservations. “Many travelers enjoy taking advantage of the great bargains and smaller crowds found in Europe during the winter months, and these low fares will make these off-season vacations even more affordable for everyone.”

“We’re thrilled to work with United in offering our U.S. travelers even greater access to exciting destinations around the world, at equally exciting prices,” said Thomas Winkelmann, Vice President, the Americas, for Lufthansa.  “This is a great opportunity to plan that weekend getaway to Paris, African safari or ski vacation in the Alps,” Winkelmann added.

Sample one-way fares (based on required round-trip purchase) are New York-London, $109; San Francisco-Paris, $219; Washington-Frankfurt, $189; Los Angeles-Cairo, $449; Boston-Tel Aviv, $319; and Houston-Dubai, $619.  Service is provided by United, Lufthansa or a combination thereof.

Tickets must be purchased 7 days in advance of travel and no later than Jan. 23, 2003. Travel must be completed by March 31, 2003.

There is a required Saturday-night stay before returning for trips to Europe and a minimum of 7 days for trips to the Middle East and Africa.
