THAI Organizes Children Day


Mr. Pichate Satirachaval, Deputy Minister of Transport, together with Mr. Kanok Abhiradee, President,Thai Airways International, recently chaired the opening of the å“Children Travel the Skyå” project at the Domestic Building of Bangkok International Airport. The å“Children Travel the Skyå” project was organized as part of National Childrenå‘s Day 2003 in order to provide air travel experience to over 200 children, in conjunction with various childrenå‘s activities and entertainment being held on this occasion.


According to Mr. Kanok Abhiradee, the “Children Travel the Sky” project aims to provide children in various foundations with the opportunity to travel on an airplane, as well as become familiarized with inflight operations and cabin crew duties on board. Passengers on THAI’s special flight for “Children Travel in the Sky” project included over 200 children from Satiendhamma Satarn Foundation, Duang Pratheep Foundation, Orphanage Support Foundation, the School for the Blind of Thailand and Slum
Infant Foundation, which flew a return flight from Bangkok via U-Tapao, Pattaya, Koh Chang, Koh Kut and Hua Hin. The flight time took one hour and fifteen minutes. In addition, children’s activities and entertainment were set up at THAI’s Technical Department, including toy giveaways, games, and singing.


THAI’s “Children Travel the Sky” project was organized with cooperation from the Thai Pilots’ Association, Cabin Crew Association, Shell Aviation, Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited,Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Limited, and Bangkok Aviation Fuel Services Public Company Limited who together helped put this project together exempting payment.
