Southwest Name New Station Manager


TUCSON, AZ-Jan.14, 2003å—Southwest Airlines recently named Dave LaPlante as the new station manager for the Companyå‘s operations at Tucson International Airport. In his new position, LaPlante will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of all Southwest flight activities in Tucson.

“I am excited about the new challenges my new job will present,” said LaPlante. “I plan to serve the Tucson community with the same dedication to excellence that is the hallmark of Southwest’s success.”

LaPlante joined the Southwest family in 1992 as a Ramp Agent in Las Vegas. During his tenure, he has held the positions of Customer Service Agent in Las Vegas and Fort Lauderdale, and Customer Service Supervisor in Sacramento and Manchester. LaPlante also assisted with the opening of Fort Lauderdale and Manchester stations. Most recently, LaPlante served as the Manager of Customer Service in Salt Lake City.

“Dave’s leadership and dedication to Southwest Airlines makes him a tremendous asset to the Tucson team,” said Dave Kissman, Southwest’s regional director of ground operations. “We look forward to Dave’s continued success in his new leadership role.”

Southwest Airlines currently operates 13 daily nonstop departures from Tucson International Airport to Albuquerque, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and San Diego with additional direct or connecting service to 29 cities.
