First Dallas Member of Everyfare Program

RICHARDSON, Texas - Canyon Creek Travel, the largest independent travel agency in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, is the first agency in the DFW area to join the American Airlines EveryFare program. By joining the EveryFare program, Richardson-based Canyon Creek has access to American’s popular “Web fares” via its Global Distribution System (GDS).

“Canyon Creek Travel/American Express is excited to partner with American Airlines through their EveryFare program,” said Randal Limbacher, president of Canyon Creek Travel. “This program responds to our clients’ requests and needs, and demonstrates American’s commitment to continue strengthening their relationship with travel agents.

“The travel agency community must realize that we are all working for the same goal of assisting our airline partners in returning to profitability,” he added. “As an agent of the airlines, we will go through both the good times and the bad with them. We look forward to a long relationship with American Airlines.”

“By joining the EveryFare program, Canyon Creek will provide its customers a wider array of fares to cities throughout our global network,” said American Vice President-Sales Craig Kreeger. “American will benefit, too, from reduced distribution costs. We welcome Canyon Creek to the EveryFare program.”

American announced the innovative EveryFare program in September and is making its Web fares available for sale by any traditional “bricks and mortar” U.S. or Canadian travel agency that signs up for the EveryFare program, and thus becomes a long-term, lower-cost distribution channel.

The innovative EveryFare program provides these Web fares in exchange for effectively shifting the responsibility for the cost of GDS booking fees from American to the travel agency. American initially gives travel agencies an allowance credit of approximately US$4 per flight coupon. Travel agents then pay to American an amount equal to their own GDS fees, based upon their own choice of GDS services and products.

The allowance paid agencies gradually declines during the term of the contract, to allow EveryFare program participants time to seek lower GDS fees. The result will be lower distribution costs for American on all fares distributed via participating EveryFare agencies.
