United Airlineså’ (NYSE: UAL) total scheduled revenue passenger miles (RPMs) rose 7.7 percent in November vs. the comparable month in 2001 as capacity was increased 6.7 percent. The carrierå‘s passenger load factor came in at 69.2 percent, up from 68.5 percent a year ago.
“United carried robust traffic over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend,” said Chris Bowers, senior vice president - marketing and sales. “With the late Thanksgiving this year, our holiday traffic was divided between late November and early December. We set a company record on Sunday, Dec. 1, with a passenger load factor of 90.5 percent. And our on-time performance so valued by our customers continued to be excellent, as has been the case at United all year. In fact, United ranked first in the U.S. Department of Transportation Air Travel Consumer Report of all major airlines for on-time performance in October that were released earlier this week.”
