America West Give Sales Two More Days

America West Airlines (NYSE: AWA) customers have 48 additional hours to book fares as low as $123 each way to and from Washington Dulles International Airport. On Sunday, Dec. 1, the airline will become the first low-fare, full service carrier operating at that airport. America West has revolutionized airline pricing by creating business fares that are 50 to 70 percent below most other major carriers and do not require a Saturday night stay.

“We`re seeing a tremendous response as customers rush to book these fares that are rarely seen in Washington,” said Scott Kirby, executive vice president, sales and marketing. “So we wanted to give customers a little more time to make sure they have an opportunity to take advantage of this special offer.”

America West will begin service between Washington Dulles International Airport and its Phoenix hub on Dec. 1, 2002, and its Las Vegas hub on Dec. 26, 2002. The airline will provide connecting service to nearly 40 destinations in the western U.S. The low-fare leader also offers friendly ticketing rules that include free standby for earlier flights and retained value for unused tickets.

From now through Nov. 27, 2002, customers can take advantage of specially reduced fares, starting as low as $123 each way, based on a roundtrip purchase, for travel from Dec. 9, 2002, through Feb. 12, 2003. Sample fares listed below are each way, based on a roundtrip purchase. They require a 14-day advance purchase and a one-night stay.
