easyJet Snatches Number One on London-Edinburgh

According to the latest Civil Aviation Authority figures, easyJet has pushed British Airways into second place on one of its flagship routes.

This news follows the latest set of passenger figures announced by the low-cost airline for the combined easyJet and Go network, which revealed that it carried 42% more passengers last month than in the same period last year.

In the first nine months of this year, the merged low-cost airline secured 38% of the market between Edinburgh and London, compared to 37% for British Airways. This compares to the first nine months of 2001 when British Airways secured 45%, and easyJet and Go had 31% between them.
