Delta Connection Adds Larger Jets to Various Destinations

CINCINNATI, Oct. 31, 2002—Delta Connection offers customers increased service capacity and convenience beginning Nov. 1 with the addition of new and larger jets between Delta’s Cincinnati hub and five cities. Delta Connection carrier Comair is featuring new 70-passenger Bombardier CRJ700 aircraft on one round-trip flight each between Cincinnati and the cities of Albany, N.Y.; Bangor, Maine; Buffalo, N.Y.; and Detroit. The new aircraft will also operate on two round-trip flights between Cincinnati and Omaha, Neb.

Flights using the 70-seat jet replace existing service with smaller jets, providing customers with more seats in each market. Delta (NYSE:DAL) and Delta Connection offer a total of four round-trip flights between Cincinnati and Albany; three to Bangor; three to Buffalo; 10 to Detroit and four to Omaha.

“The additional seating capacity of the CRJ700 allows Delta Connection to meet the service needs of communities where customer demand is growing,” said Fred Buttrell, president and chief executive officer of Delta Connection Inc. “We can increase comfort and convenience for our customers with these larger aircraft.”

Passengers familiar with the 40- and 50-seat CRJs will notice increased comfort in the CRJ700 cabin. The floor has been lowered by one inch to increase head and shoulder room; the windows have been raised almost five inches for easier outside viewing; and the overhead bins have been redesigned to provide a wider, more spacious aisle. Additionally, all Delta Connection CRJ700s feature all-leather interiors and a comfortable two-by-two seating arrangement with no middle seats.

Delta Connection carriers include Delta’s wholly owned subsidiaries Atlantic Southeast Airlines and Comair, additional regional carriers Atlantic Coast Airlines, Chautauqua Airlines and SkyWest Airlines, and codeshare partner American Eagle (in California). Delta Connection carriers operate more than 270 regional jets throughout North America. For more information, please contact Delta Reservations, 1-800-221-1212, or visit delta.com.
