Boeing Expands Presence in Europe

BRUSSELS, Oct. 9, 2002 - The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] has expanded its European presence with two recent executive appointments in the region.


Marlin Dailey has been appointed vice president of European Sales, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, and Daniel da Silva has been named vice president of Customer Support - Europe for Commercial Airplanes. Both positions are based at the Commercial Airplanes` European regional head office in Brussels, Belgium.


Dailey has full responsibility for Boeing`s commercial airplane sales in the region and he leads a sales team located in Europe and Seattle, Washington.


“Marlin has worked in Europe for the last eight years on assignments based in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Belgium,” said Toby Bright, vice president of Commercial Airplanes Sales. “He has the international experience, insight and business acumen necessary to effectively lead our sales activities in the region.”


Da Silva leads a customer support team responsible for meeting the total needs of Commercial Airplanes` European customers and providing service solutions to support the airlines` operational requirements.

“Dan brings strong customer focus and the right international and aviation background to respond to our customers` needs in the important European region,” said Mike Bair, senior vice president of Commercial Aviation Services.


Dailey and da Silva will partner to respond to European airline customers` requirements with a complete range of solutions and support.
