Austrian Airlines with Increase Traffic Volume

The Austrian Airlines Aviation Group - Austrian Airlines, Lauda Air and Tyrolean Airways - announce an increase of traffic volume for the period January until May 1999. With 3,140,219 passengers traffic figures exceeded already the 3-million mark.
The total transportation volume of scheduled and charter services increased in comparison to the first five months of 1998 by 9.3 percent. The transportation volume of scheduled services augmented by 10.0 percent to 2,688,684 passengers in comparison to the same period of the previous year, that of charter services grew by 5.4 percent to 451,535 passengers carried.
The average load factor (scheduled and charter services) of the partners’ fleets decreased - due to the Kosovo-crisis - by 2.3 points to 66.4 percent. Measures have been taken to adapt capacity. The average load factor of scheduled services amounts to 64.4 percent. The scheduled network of the Austrian Airlines Aviation Group including code share-flights comprises 160 cities in 68 countries on all five continents.
