Frontier Airlines To Perform Internal Revenue Accounting

Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT) today announced that effective April 1, the airline has begun performing its own revenue accounting processes, using SITA`s Passenger Revenue Accounting system (PRA). The airline previously outsourced its revenue accounting function.

“As our business grows, we must continually analyze what functions are best handled in an outsourced environment and what functions can be more efficiently managed internally,” explained Vice President and Controller Elissa Potucek. “In Frontier`s case, and as we prepare to celebrate our eighth year of operations, we believe that bringing our revenue accounting processes in house will result in reduced costs and will improve our ability to access real-time information and flight revenue information. To manage the new in-house responsibilities, we have developed a strong internal team with diverse industry experience, utilizing SITA`s PRA system to provide us with a variety of services, including e-ticket processing and a fare audit module.”

“Our recent acquisition of RPA has strengthened SITA`s wide-ranging applications portfolio and we are delighted that Frontier - recently named one of Entrepreneur Magazine`s `best domestic low-fare carriers` - has chosen to use SITA`s revenue accounting solution to enhance their operations,” said Bob Thorpe, SITA`s Vice President and General Manager,
Passenger Services. “This application offers the flexibility needed to satisfy the business needs of any airline, regardless of scope, fleet composition or route structure and we see a great future for these services.”
