Frontier Airlines Names Karen J. Sykes Director Of Inflight

Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT ) today named Karen J. Sykes as director, inflight services, effective immediately. In her new position, Sykes, 49, will be responsible for all aspects of the airline`s inflight service, including overseeing the airline`s 350 flight attendants, inflight management staff and catering. Sykes will report to Vice President of Human Resources and Flight Services Ann Block.

“We welcome Karen`s technical expertise and leadership skills to this extremely important department,” said Block. “Our customers spend the greatest amount of their time with Frontier in the presence of our flight attendants. Karen`s leadership will help us continue to seek and implement ways to improve the work environment for our flight attendants, which will translate into an improved service product for our customers.”


Sykes has over 12 years of aviation experience, including nine years of service with the former Frontier Airlines and Frontier Horizon Airlines. Her positions at those airlines included director of flight service, manager of flight attendant training, manager of flight service and flight attendant. Most recently, Karen served as a consultant with United Airlines, leading their C/L/R (Command Leadership Resource Management) program, which is designed to maximize flight safety.


Sykes holds a bachelor of science degree in education from the University of Utah. She and her husband William Sykes, M.D. live in Golden, Colo. They have one son, Eric, who resides in Utah.
