Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT ) has named Andrew “Drew” Skaff as director of materials management, effective immediately. Skaff brings over 10 years of airline experience to his new position and most recently served as director of purchasing for Orlando-based AirTran Airways. Skaff will oversee the airline`s centralized procurement activities, including general purchasing commodities, technical aircraft parts, contract services and repair and warranty services. He will report directly to the airline`s Chief Financial Officer Steve Warnecke.

“Drew brings a wealth of procurement and materials management experience relevant to the airline industry,” said Warnecke. “We look forward to his leadership as we enter the Airbus transition and prepare for future growth. He will also be an integral part of the development of the project team approach toward improving the efficiency of our maintenance operation.”

Skaff began his career as a senior buyer for America West Airlines, Inc. He holds an MBA from Crummer Graduate School of Business, Rollins College, and a bachelor of science degree in finance from Arizona State University. He and his wife, Kris, and two children currently live in Orlando, Fla. and will relocate to Denver, Colo.
