Frontier Airlines Nasdaq: FRNT ) today announced it has taken delivery of its twentieth aircraft, a Boeing 737-200 Advanced from San Francisco-based Triton Aviation Services Limited. This brings the total number of aircraft in the airline`s fleet to 20, including 13 Boeing 737-300 aircraft and seven Boeing 737-200 Advanced aircraft. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
“We are pleased that the Frontier fleet is now 100 percent Stage 3 noise compliant,” said Frontier President Sam Addoms. “As we look forward to the next century, our fleet plans call for leasing an additional three or four Boeing 737 jets during calendar 2000. During calendar 2001, Frontier will begin its transition to an all Airbus fleet, as earlier announced.”
The average age of the airline`s fleet is now approximately 10? years and the average number of seats per aircraft is currently 131.
