Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT ) today announced the promotion of “Red” Barringer to Vice President, Customer Service and Station Operations. Barringer formerly held the title of Director, Customer Service and Station Operations. In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the airline`s customer service and station functions. Barringer will continue to report to Executive Vice President, Operations Jim Wyche.
“Frontier`s reputation in the area of customer service is legendary,” said Frontier President Sam Addoms. “And as we continue to grow Frontier and expand our service, we recognize the importance of maintaining our service reputation as well as taking our customer service to the next level. Red`s experience, professionalism and leadership ensure this endeavor will be successful.”
Barringer, 66, brings 42 years of airline experience to his new position, including city manager, Salt Lake City and manager ground service, Denver, for Frontier. In addition, from 1986 to 1994, he held various positions at Continental Airlines. Barringer`s duties with the prior Frontier Airlines, which operated from 1946 to 1986, included city manager, Seattle and city manager, Missoula, Montana. Barringer, a native of Missoula, and his wife Linda have two children and two grandchildren.
