Frontier Airlines To Lease Boeing 737 Jet

Denver-based Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT ) today announced an agreement to lease a Boeing Advanced 737-200 jet from Interlease Aviation Investors LLC, Northfield, Ill.

The 119-seat aircraft, equipped with ``hush kits,`` will be delivered to Frontier in mid-October. It will join two other Advanced 737-200 jets now operated by Frontier along with seven 737-300s (136 seats) and five basic 737-200s (108 seats). All of the carrier`s aircraft have all-coach configurations.

As announced earlier, Frontier plans to replace its five basic 737s with newer models under a phase-out schedule to be completed by October 1999. The latest fleet addition is scheduled to replace the first of these five aircraft at year-end 1998, leaving an unchanged total of 14 aircraft in operation at that time.

Frontier serves routes linking its Denver hub to 15 cities in 12 states coast to coast. The airline began flying in July 1994.
