Spirit Airlines Hits Load Factor Of 80.6 Percent For April 2001

Spirit Airlines announces its April 2001 traffic figures with the load factor reaching 80.6 percent system wide, among the highest in the industry and more than a four percent gain from the same period in 2000.
“With Spirit’s new and expanded coast-to-coast service, we continue to lead the industry in load factor,” said Ned Homfeld, chairman and founder of Spirit Airlines. “We are very proud of our airline and these record breaking figures. We anticipate continued growth and expansion as we have just added service between Chicago and Los Angeles as well as between Detroit and Oakland, Calif. Serving the San Francisco Bay,” Homfeld said.

April’s revenue passenger miles (RPM’s) reached 346,099,000 with a 30.1 percent gain over April 2000.

Available seat miles (ASMs) continue to rise with a 23.4 percent increase and a 27.5 percent gain in passengers carried from the same period in 2000.
