Transfer Gate Information For Germany-Bound Travellers

Singapore Airlines (SIA) customers heading for Frankfurt to transfer to a German domestic service can now find out in advance where to board their connecting flight. The gate number is available on channel 22 of SIA’s inflight entertainment system, KrisWorld, one hour before their SIA flight arrives at Frankfurt Main Airport.
The new information service, which was introduced on 1 September 2002, is intended for travellers connecting to Lufthansa flights scheduled to depart within two hours of the arrival of the SIA flight.

Similarly, Lufthansa passengers connecting to any SIA destination via Singapore can note the gate number of their connecting flight at Singapore’s Changi Airport before they arrive.
Said SIA Senior Vice-President (Product and Services) Yap Kim Wah: “Passengers feel more relaxed if they know in advance where to board their connecting flight. This latest initiative is part of our on-going joint efforts with Lufthansa to offer a convenient and seamless travel experience for our customers.”
Mr Thomas Sattelberger, Lufthansa’s Executive Vice-President Product & Service, said, “Partnership is always centred around the customer. We are proud to offer jointly with SIA new benefits for transfer passengers at our major hubs, which make it more convenient for customers to use our common network.”
Together, SIA and Lufthansa offer customers excellent travel flexibility on the Singapore-Frankfurt route, with 21 weekly flights and a choice of day and night departure times. SIA operates two flights a day, and Lufthansa one.
