bmi is delighted to be this year`s recipient of best domestic leisure airline from the readers of Condé Nast Traveller magazine.
From a group of five, including the “world`s favourite airline” and three low cost operators, readers of the magazine declared bmi their “airline of choice” for domestic bliss. In particular readers were impressed with the airline`s staff and service and its punctuality and efficiency.
Austin Reid, chief executive officer at bmi said:
“At a time when we are having to react to and alter our product offering, in particular due to the competition that the low cost airlines bring, it is really encouraging to see that travellers are still impressed with both our people and our frills.
“This is indeed recognition from our customers that we are continuing to provide the right product and service on the major trunk routes within the UK. Clearly, we are delighted to receive this award and add it to our ever growing list of accolades from both the travelling public and the industry.”
Readers who completed the questionnaire were asked to choose the best that the travel world had to offer. They were then asked to rate choices according to various criteria, ie service and value. The average mark was then calculated on each criterion and used to provide the overall satisfaction percentage figure. bmi scored 85.00 out of the possible 100 available.
Condé Nast Traveller is a high gloss monthly travel lifestyle magazine with an accredited circulation of 81,368. Launched in September 1997, the magazine has a strict `no freebies` policy and has a clear objective of seeing the world in the same way as the travelling public.
