Thai Airways International Public Company Limited was voted among top ten best airlines in the Asia Pacific region, under the categories Best Economy Class, Best Airline Food, Best Cabin Crew Service and Best Frequent Flyers Program, according to the 9th annual readers` survey published in Business Traveller Asia Pacific magazine October 2000 issue.

This year`s Business Traveller readers` poll has shown that customers placed a special emphasis not only on excellence of services and operations but the consistency of the services being provided. The results have proved a remarkable improvement in THAI services and operations compared to the results in year 1999.

The survey was jointly conducted together with Worldroom.com on-line global travel resource. A total of 10,250 questionnaires were mailed to Business Traveller`s subscribers in June 2000 issue and 59 on-line questionnaires were displayed on screen. Under the survey, 41 Asia Pacific airlines were listed, as well as 162 hotels and 15 leading airport cities. A scale of 1-10 was given to readers to vote for each category. The respondents to both mailed and on-line questionnaires had an average income of USD 131,000 per annum and had taken an average of 30.8 business trips in the year between July 1998 to June 1999.

Bangkok was voted among the top ten Best Cities for Eating Out and Best Asia Pacific Leisure Destination. Six hotels located in Bangkok were voted Best Hotel for Business.
