Vanguard Airlines Reports A 22% Increase In April Traffic

Kansas City, MO—Vanguard Airlines, Inc. (NasdaqSC: VNGD) reported that for the month of April 2000 traffic increased 22% to approximately 84.2 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in April 2000 from approximately 68.8 million in April 1999. Capacity increased 41% to approximately 136.7 million available seat miles (ASMs) in April 2000 versus 97.0 million in April 1999. Load factor decreased approximately 9 points to 61.6% in April 2000 from approximately 71.0% in April 1999.


Year-to-date RPMs increased 20% to approximately 290.7 million in 2000 from approximately 242.6 million in 1999. Year-to-date ASMs increased 38% to approximately 482.6 million in 2000 from approximately 349.4 million in 1999. Year-to-date load factor decreased approximately 9 points to 60.2% in 2000 from 69.4% in 1999.
