Vanguard Airlines Reports A 27% Increase In June Traffic

Kansas City, MO—Vanguard Airlines, Inc. (NasdaqSC: VNGD) reported that for the month of June 2000 traffic increased 27% to approximately 102.8 million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in June 2000 from approximately 80.7 million in June 1999. Capacity increased 42% to approximately 161.3 million available seat miles (ASMs) in June 2000 versus 113.6 million in June 1999. Load factor decreased approximately seven points to 63.7% in June 2000 from approximately 71.1% in June 1999.


Year-to-date RPMs increased 21% to approximately 478.1 million in 2000 from approximately 396.5 million in 1999. Year-to-date ASMs increased 39% to approximately 787.2 million in 2000 from approximately 567.9 million in 1999. Year-to-date load factor decreased approximately nine points to 60.7% in 2000 from 69.8% in 1999.


Vanguard, which began service in December 1994 and is headquartered in Kansas City, is a low-fare, 100% ticketless passenger airline providing convenient and frequent, scheduled jet services to the following ten cities: Atlanta, Buffalo/Niagara Falls, Chicago-Midway, Dallas/Ft.
