EL PASO, Texas - American Airlines announces the installation of three Self-Service Check-In machines at El Paso International Airport, which becomes the 37th airport where American offers this convenient service. Bright yellow arrows direct customers to the machine locations at each airport.
“Our passengers’ response to Self-Service Check-In has been extremely positive, ” said Dan Garton, American’s executive vice president - Marketing. “More than three million people have discovered the convenience of these machines to check in for their flights, select their seats, obtain boarding passes, and even check luggage, all in one quick-and-easy stop. Of course, our excellent Customer Service representatives are also available to assist passengers who desire or need additional assistance.”
Through the end of the year, first-time Self-Service Check-In users will receive 500 AAdvantage® bonus miles when they check in at the machines.
There are 294 Self-Service Check-In machines available at airports in Albuquerque, N.M.; Atlanta; Austin, Texas; Boston; Chicago (O`Hare); Cleveland; Dallas/Fort Worth; Denver; Detroit; Hartford, Conn.; Houston (Bush Intercontinental); Indianapolis, Ind.; Kansas City; Long Beach, Calif.; Little Rock, Ark.; Los Angeles; Memphis, Tenn.; Miami; Minneapolis; Nashville, Tenn.; New York (LaGuardia and JFK); Newark; New Orleans, La.; Orlando, Fla.; Phoenix; Philadelphia; Raleigh/Durham, N.C.; Reno, Nev.; Rochester, N.Y.; San Antonio, Texas; San Jose, Calif.; Seattle; St. Louis; Tulsa, Okla.; and Washington, D.C. (Reagan National).
American plans to continue installing machines in many additional cities this year.
For convenience even before entering the terminal, American offers more than 300 mobile curbside check-in units in over 80 cities for customers with paper or electronic tickets. Customers may use curbside service to check bags, receive a boarding pass and then proceed through security straight to the gate. American has also introduced Roving Agent, a wireless hand-held device, allowing American agents to approach passengers who are traveling without checked baggage and complete their check-in transaction on the spot. Available in 16 domestic airports, American’s wireless Roving Agent product also provides dynamic flight information to assist employees in answering customers’ questions.
