More problems are looming for travelers with Air France as French unions plan a 24-hour strike on October 3.

If the action goes ahead, it will be the second time within a matter of weeks that the airline`s flights have been badly disrupted.

Earlier this month, a four-day strike by Air France pilots caused widespread cancelations and delays to services.

The pilots will also be involved in the planned October stoppage, one of seven unions protesting against the government`s move to privatize the country`s national airline. The carrier`s ground workers are also involved.

The strike call is part of a national day of action by workers protesting over the sell-off of state owned industries. The government wants to reduce its majority stake in Air France to around 20 percent.
