Gulf Air New Appointment Reflects Demand


Gulf Air, the national carrier of the UAE, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar, has appointed Abdulla Al Shawoosh as Cargo Manager, UAE, and has announced a year-on-year increase in cargo uplift for the period January å- June 2002.


Reporting directly to UAE General Manager, Mahfood Al Harthy, Mr. Al Shawoosh is responsible for overseeing the servicing of the UAE cargo market, a position which also incorporates his previous role as Cargo Sales Manager for Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
Mr. Al Shawoosh has a wealth of experience in the transportation business and has worked with Gulf Air for 17 years.


Gulf Air has also announced an increase in cargo uplift in the UAE market of more than 10 percent for the first half of this year compared with the same period during 2001.


“Mr. Al Shawoosh’s in-depth knowledge of this market and his breadth of experience are vital to understanding our customers and addressing their specific needs,” said Mr. Al Harthy.  “This strategic appointment increases our focus on the UAE and will assist in streamlining processes and providing the most efficient and effective service for our cargo customers.”
