Independent Director Thomas E. Schick Elected Chairman of ExpressJet Board

HOUSTON, Sept. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/—ExpressJet Holdings (NYSE: XJT)
today announced the election of independent director Thomas E. Schick as non-
executive chairman of its board of directors.  Former Chairman Gordon Bethune
will continue to serve on ExpressJet`s nine-member board.

“We have already benefited from Tom`s industry experience and perspective
as an independent member of ExpressJet`s board,” said ExpressJet President and
CEO Jim Ream.  “We are fortunate to have his leadership as non-executive
chairman.”

Schick, who has served as one of four outside directors on the ExpressJet
board since their election on May 31, is former executive vice president-
Commercial Aviation Services and deputy to the president for the Boeing
Commercial Airplanes Group.  He has extensive airline industry experience at
the senior management level, including positions as president of both Midway
Airlines and Piedmont Aviation.
