American Airlines AAdvantage® Program Teams Up With Omni Hotels

6th Sep 2002

FORT WORTH, Texas - In an ideal world, one of the luxuries of a luxury hotel would be double miles. So, American Airlines AAdvantage® Marketing Programs and Omni Hotels have joined together to provide travelers with an easy way to earn double AAdvantage miles. Beginning today, guests who stay at any Omni Hotels location can earn 500 AAdvantage miles per qualifying stay. As part of the launch, Omni Hotels is also offering 500 bonus miles per stay, for a total of 1,000 miles, from Sept. 1, 2002 - Oct. 31, 2002.
“We are pleased to partner with Omni Hotels in offering AAdvantage members a way to make their stays with Omni Hotels more rewarding,” said Jeff Zidell, vice president - AAdvantage Marketing Programs. “Omni Hotels are conveniently located in major business centers, which are primary destinations for many AAdvantage members.”
Omni Hotels has made earning miles easy for its guests. There are no special “points clubs” to join or hidden fees or mail-in rebates. When Omni Hotels’ guests book the qualifying rate, they simply provide Omni Hotels with their AAdvantage number, and miles will be automatically credited to their account. Guests of Omni Hotels can earn miles faster by becoming an Omni Hotels Select Guest member. While this free membership is not required to earn miles, it rewards Select Guest Gold members with AAdvantage miles on nearly every stay, including most government, leisure and group rates. Guests provide their frequent flyer number when they sign up, and miles will be automatically credited to their account on all qualifying stays.
“Central to Omni Hotels` mission is to exceed the expectations of our guest, which is demonstrated by our intense focus on customer satisfaction,” said Tom Chevins, senior vice president - Sales and Marketing. “Omni Hotels` new partnership with American Airlines allows us to further satisfy the needs of our frequent travelers as we continue to increase our value with this important audience.”
The American Airlines AAdvantage travel awards program—the first and largest of its kind—began in 1981 with 283,000 members and has grown to more than 45 million members worldwide. The AAdvantage program has more U.S. fliers than any other frequent traveler program, and it provides more opportunities to redeem miles than any other program. Members can earn miles for everything from breakfast cereal to flowers or financial services, credit card purchases, and of course travel. And now, they can earn miles by staying at an Omni Hotel.
