New Check-In Procedures

PHOENIX, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/—America West Airlines (NYSE: AWA) announced today that it is implementing new procedures for baggage
check in and customer check in at the gate.  Starting Sept. 4, customers will
need to check their bags at least 30 minutes prior to departure, except in
Denver and Atlanta where baggage must be checked 45 minutes prior to
departure.  Customers will also need to check in for their flight at least
15 minutes prior to departure and should plan to be on the aircraft at least
10 minutes prior to departure.

on-time operational performance and these new procedures will support our
efforts to do that,” said Anthony Mule, senior vice president, customer

America West has added dozens of kiosks at airports around its system to
allow customers to check in for their flights in approximately two minutes.
This new technology gives America West`s customers extra time to make it to
their gate and prepare to board their flight.
