Northwest Introduce a New Jet Service

MINNEAPOLIS—(August 29, 2002)—Northwest Airlines and its Northwest Airlink affiliate, Pinnacle Airlines Inc., today announced that it will begin offering jet service on two of its daily flights between Fort Smith, Ark. and its hub in Memphis, Tenn. on November 19, 2002.

Northwest will upgrade two of its 34-passenger Saab 340 turbo-prop aircraft flights between Fort Smith and Memphis to the 50-passenger Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ). The remaining two flights will continue to be operated with the Saab 340.

The CRJ features a spacious cabin with comfortable two-by-two leather seating and other cabin amenities similar to much larger jets, such as overhead bins, a full-service galley, lavatory, and an efficient climate control system to ensure passenger comfort.
