New United Express Jet Service to Aspen

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 22, 2002—United Airlines announced today that United Express will start new seasonal jet service from San Francisco to Aspen, Colo., beginning December 13 through April 6, 2003.

The new service represents the only nonstop flight between the Bay Area and Aspen, and will allow customers in Aspen to make connections throughout the West Coast and Asia.  United Express carrier Air Wisconsin will operate the daily flights using four-engine, 88-seat, BAe-146 jet aircraft.

“The new service between San Francisco and Aspen nicely complement our existing flights to Aspen from our hubs at Denver and Los Angeles and shows our continued commitment to providing customers with more service options than any other airline,” said Sean Donohue, United Airlines vice president—North America Sales.  “These flights also give our customers in Aspen additional opportunities to access United’s worldwide network.”

United Airlines and United Express operate more than 3,200 flights a day on a route network that spans the globe.  News releases and other information about United Airlines may be found at the company’s website at www.united.com.
