Aer Lingus Chief Executive, Willie Walsh, today announced the appointment of Liz White as Human Resources Director with the airline. Liz, who is currently Head of Compensation and Benefits with Eircom will take up the position shortly.
Liz White has extensive experience at a senior level in Human Resources in major industries in Ireland and Britain. She was formerly Head of Human Resources, Sales and Marketing with Eircom and has held senior positions with General Motors, Europe and the Ford Motor Company in Britain.
Announcing the appointment, Willie Walsh said, “I am delighted that a person of the calibre and experience of Liz White is joining Aer Lingus as Human Resources Director. We are facing into a very exciting period for the airline as we head back to profitability following the implementation of the Survival Plan. The service provided directly to our customers by our people will always be a core part of the Aer Lingus product. Liz will be a key member of the senior management team as we continue to change the way we do business while maintaining our reputation for quality customer service.”
Commenting on the appointment Liz White said: “The airline industry is going through a period of major change right now and Aer Lingus has made great strides is dealing with the consequences of that change. Clearly much more remains to be done and I very much look forward to playing my part in the positive management of change necessary to build a successful, profitable airline for the future.”
