bmibaby today makes its links with Cardiff and the surrounding region ever stronger with the announcement that it is to become the principal sponsor of Cardiff Rugby Football Club.
The deal signifies the first step by the low fares airline to playing an active role in Cardiff and throughout Wales. The commercial partnership will see the bmibaby.com logo stitched on the collar and on the front of the first team jersey, which will be worn for every match. As part of the deal the north stand at Cardiff Arms Park will be also renamed “the bmibaby stand”.
Tony Davis, managing director bmibaby said:
“I am delighted that we are forging this association between bmibaby and Cardiff Rugby Football Club. It is a huge honour for everyone at bmibaby that we will be participating fully in the Club’s activities. I am absolutely thrilled at establishing such an important presence at Cardiff Arms Park, which is the home of the national sport.
“bmibaby is committed to providing much improved air links to and from Wales and is also determined to be an active corporate citizen in Cardiff and throughout the country.”
Taking the opportunity to comment on recent press coverage Tony added:
“It is pleasing to note that BA backtracked so rapidly on its objection to our Jersey route license application and this climb down shows that bmibaby will not be bullied by the big boys. We remain committed to making low cost travel accessible to the entire region and judging by the number of bookings we have taken to date it is clear that the demand is there.
“bmibaby is looking forward to serving the people of Wales with an excellent low fares service and we believe that our arrival and the competition we bring can only be of benefit to the travelling public and the local economy.”
