Westpac today announced that Virgin Blue has joined the Altitude card rewards program as a redemption partner allowing cardholders to now reward themselves with travel on Australia’s second largest domestic airline.
Altitude cardholders will be able to redeem Altitude points for Virgin Blue travel vouchers.
“Our customers tell us that it’s critical that Altitude provides a range of options which include both airline rewards as well as non travel rewards. The ability to fly with a range of airlines is also important, and we are very pleased to announce the addition of Virgin Blue,” said Peter Hanlon, Westpac’s General Manager, Marketing.
Virgin Blue Chief Executive, Brett Godfrey said, “It’s a win-win situation for all involved and this new relationship allows us to take part in the innovative rewards program managed by Westpac, while we continue to focus on Virgin Blue’s long term game plan of more growth, more low fares and more destinations.
Altitude continues to offer one point for every dollar spent on the card (which is doubled when spending at Bonus Partners including Hoyts, David Jones and HMV).
Peter Hanlon added: “Altitude is a very attractive program to Australians who like to have a credit card with rewards and it provides a wider choice of rewards than most programs in the market.”
Westpac’s Altitude program is continuously being upgraded with rewards that can be redeemed including accommodation at some of Australia’s leading hotels, car hire with Avis and Budget as well as a range of electronic and leisure goods such as PING golf clubs, NEC DVD player and Aveda spa treatments.
