Qantas And Polynesian Airlines Sign Agreement

Qantas and Polynesian Airlines confirmed today that they had signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop a commercial relationship.

Under the memorandum, the carriers are examining the opportunities available for a range of cooperative initiatives including codeshare.

Qantas Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Geoff Dixon, said an application had already been submitted to the International Air Services Commission in Canberra for codeshare approval.

“This new relationship with Polynesian Airlines will provide benefits to the customers of both airlines, as well as boosting tourism into the region,” Mr Dixon added.

Chairman of Polynesian Airlines, the Rt Hon Tuilaepa Malielegaoi, said: “I feel confident that this development will lead to a friendly relationship in which the two carriers will concentrate on developing their businesses in a pro-active manner which recognises benefits for both.
