The Business Traveller is a worldwide publication with an English, American, German and Asian edition published in Hong Kong. Airline award categories include Best Airline, Best Airline for Business Class Travel, Best Airline for Economy Class Travel, Best Long-, Medium- and Short-haul Airline, Best North American Airline, Best Eastern European Airline and Best Frequent Flyer Programme. The questionnaires are analyzed by ORCI (Opinion Research Corporation International), an independent consumer opinion research center.

Business Traveller has been awarding airlines for over 20 years. A new category was added in 1998 due to the increasing popularity of Eastern European flights. That was the year when LOT received the Best Eastern European Airline Award for the first time.
Readers evaluating airlines paid special attention to in-flight service, on-time performance, quality of servive and meals etc.
