Luxury Brazilian Jets On Two C.T. Routes

South African Airlink has introduced its new Embraer regional jets on scheduled services between Cape Town and Kimberley and also Cape Town and George.
SA Airlink now offers two return flights daily on the Cape Town-Kimberley route on weekdays as well as one return flight on Sundays. On the Cape Town-George route, there will be four return flights on weekdays, two on Saturdays and three on Sundays. New timetables for these routes are available from all travel agents.

The replacement of the Jetstream J41 29-seater aircraft with 37-seater Embraer ERJ135 jet aircraft will significantly reduce flying time on both of these routes. Flying time on the CT-Kimberley route is now 95 minutes compared with 2 hours, and on the CT-George route the flight now takes 50 minutes compared with 1 hour 10 minutes with the Jetstream J41.

Rodger Foster, CEO of SA Airlink, said: “We are pleased to offer our commuters in these areas the benefits of an enhanced product. The Embraer jets have top speeds of 833km per hour and can fly at altitudes of 37 000ft ,” he added.
