According to the latest passenger statistics released by Barcelona airport, easyJet is the top non-Spanish airline operating there. The figures, which cover passenger statistics for December 2001, show that easyJet is currently ranked fourth in terms the number of people carried over the month.
As the top three ranking airlines are all national Spanish carriers, this makes easyJet the top non-Spanish operator at the airport. For the first time, easyJet is ranked above traditional airlines such as Lufthansa, Air France and British Airways, illustrating that the low-cost alternative is becoming increasing popular across Europe.
easyJet flies to Barcelona from London Luton, Gatwick (from 1 February) and Liverpool within the UK, and from Amsterdam and Geneva within mainland Europe. By offering frequent, scheduled services to key destinations, as well as great-value fares, easyJet continues to establish its position as the airline of choice across Europe.
