Korean Air`s Wine Service - A Best Cellar In The Sky

Korean Airå‘s international business class serves some of the best wine in the sky according to Business Traveler magazine.
Every year, Business Traveler surveys the wine selections from the world’s top airlines and this year, Korean Air took the honors for its international business class offerings.
In addition to being named the best wine cellar in the sky, the BusinessTraveler panel honored Korean Air specifically for its Mambourg Gran Cru Gewerztraminer 1999, its Piper-Heidsieck Brut NV and its Chateau de Malleret Bordeaux Cru Bourgeois 1997.
In all, 35 noted wine aficionados judged more than 250 wines. Divided into four panels, experts were told the wine type, but not the vintner or airline.  From there, they had to sniff, swirl and savor selections submitted by 25 different international airlines to determine which carrier uncorked the best bottles at cruising altitude.

“We are delighted to win these awards,” said K.S. Kim, who oversees U.S. marketing for the Korean flag carrier. “Korean Air always has stressed the importance of in-flight service, and our wine list is an important factor. Travelers make airline choices based on the service they receive, and there’s no doubt that our wine service is an attraction.”
Korean Air has won other in-flight awards including the prestigious Mercury Award for in-flightmeal service.
Korean Air’s SkyTeam alliance partner, Delta Air Lines, also was a top scorer, rated right behind Korean Air with the second best international business class wine service.
Korean Air, with a fleet of 120 aircraft, is one of the world`s top 20 airlines and operates almost 400 passenger flights per day to 82 cities in 30 countries. The airline has more service than any other major global airline to China from the U.S., with a total of 12 destinations, 14 different routes and 77 flights per week.  Korean Air is a founding member of SkyTeam, the global alliance - partnering AeroMexico, Air France, Alitalia, CSA Czech Airlines and Delta Air Lines.
