buzz Profits From Lufthansa`s Withdrawal From Stansted

Hot on the heels of Lufthansa`s withdrawal of its London Stansted to Frankfurt and Munich operations1, buzz is offering more incentives for the German business traveler whilst it reviews opportunities to increase schedules. buzz is keeping German business flying by offering automatic access to its executive lounge for those showing a valid Lufthansa ticket dated 28 October - 28th November 20012.

The move comes as buzz reports sustained revenue growth for the September period (up 33% for September 2001 versus September 2000), and a near doubling of revenue (46%) for the first six months of its financial year. With 33% of this coming from the lucrative business travel sector, buzz aims to strengthen its leadership position as the most frequent scheduled operator out of Stansted into Germany each week.

Offering considerable financial savings - (86% reduction if you take buzz`s starting fares of £70 return (£35 each way) compared with £511.70 for a comparable Lufthansa ticket3 ) - without loss of service, buzz expects to convert a substantial percentage of the Lufthansa passenger base. Says Tony Camacho, Commercial Director at buzz: “Germany is already home to some of our busiest routes. With up to 400 additional passengers seeking alternative transit each day, we are confident that our share of the business travel market will continue to grow. With fully flexible corporate fares available online, permitting changes and cancellations up to an hour before departure, there`s now even more incentive to do German business through buzz.”

As if this wasn`t enough, passengers departing for Germany in November and December, can further benefit from buzz`s online Autumn seat sale with fares to Düsseldorf starting from as little as £20 and Frankfurt and Berlin from £25 (one way inclusive of all taxes and on-line discount). buzz flies to the main airports in all these cities, with up to three flights daily.

3 buzz flexible fares (non-promotional) to Frankfurt, Cologne, Berlin and Düsseldorf all start from £70 return (£35 each way) inclusive of all taxes and on-line discount. This represents an 86% saving on Lufthansa`s lowest flexible day return fare to Frankfurt (quoted 11 October).
