Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) is pleased to announce that effective today, Cathay Pacific Airways flies three times daily to / from KLIA. The airline increased its flights to KLIA due to tremendous and encouraging demand for the Hong Kong - Kuala Lumpur sector.
In today`s welcome reception, arriving passengers of Flight CX723 from Hong Kong were greeted and presented with souvenirs by YB Dato` Seri Dr. Ling Liong Sik, Minister of Transport and YBhg. Tan Sri Dato` Haji Basir Ismail, Chairman of MAHB. Also present were Y.Bhg. Dato` Adnan Shamsuddin, Executive Director (Operations) MAHB; Encik Rosman Abdullah, Executive Director (Finance) MAHB; Mr. Ivan Chu, Cathay Pacific Regional Manager for South East Asia; Ms. Vivian Lo, Cathay Pacific Country Manager Malaysia and Brunei and Encik Abdul Hamid Mohd Ali, General Manager of Malaysia Airports (Sepang) Sdn. Bhd.
The additional Flight CX722 will depart Kuala Lumpur at 3:10pm, arriving Hong Kong at 7:00pm on the same day. The new service will be operated on a daily basis. Apart from the increased frequency, Cathay Pacific`s flights from Malaysia will also allow passengers to have more convenient and timely onward connections to other destinations in North America, Canada and Europe, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver, New York, Toronto, London, Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam and Rome.
Previously, Cathay Pacific Airways operates two non-stop daily services between Hong Kong and Malaysia using its own aircraft, plus two code-share flights with Malaysia Airlines on a weekly basis. With the additional daily flight, the total number of weekly flights between Malaysia and Hong Kong will be increased to 66
Over the years, Cathay Pacific Airways has been actively promoting Malaysia to the rest of the world. The airline was also awarded the Best Foreign Airline 2001 by Tourism Malaysia for the airline`s efforts in promoting Malaysia. Cathay Pacific Airways started its service to Malaysia on 11 August 1957.
