America West Airlines (NYSE: AWA) today
announced the election of Lloyd J. Parker, Jr., to vice president, e-business.
In his new role, Parker will be responsible for managing the company`s
electronic business, Internet initiatives and online investments.
“Lloyd brings a great breadth of knowledge and experience to our company,”
said Scott Kirby, senior vice president, e-business and technologies.
“Lloyd`s strategic capability and focus on implementation and delivering
results make him a tremendous addition to our senior management team. We are
looking forward to continued success within our e-business group under Lloyd`s
Parker joined America West in May 2000 as managing director,
business-to-business (B2B), in the e-business division. He has been
instrumental in creating and identifying new opportunities to increase
organizational efficiency and reduce costs.
Before joining America West, Parker spent the past five years with Bank of
America, most recently as senior vice president in the integrated e-commerce
division. Previously he served for 10 years in various leadership positions,
including brand manager at Reebok and vice president at Contract Services,
Inc., an installation level logistics support services company, based in
Junction City, Kansas. Parker, 38, received a bachelor of science degree in
accounting from Marymount College of Kansas in 1985. He also received a
master of business administration from Arizona State University in 1995.
