America West And TWA Announce Frequent Flyer Partnership

America West Airlines (NYSE: AWA) and
Trans World Airlines today announced a new marketing partnership that will
benefit members of both airlines` frequent flyer programs.  Effective
immediately, both America West FlightFund(R) members and TWA Aviators(R) will
be able to accrue and redeem miles on either America West or TWA flights.

America West FlightFund members and TWA Aviators will earn one mile for
every mile flown on the other carrier, with a minimum mileage credit of
500 miles.  Members will also earn a 50 percent mileage bonus when they
purchase and fly in first class.

“America West is excited about the addition of TWA to the growing number
of partners in our FlightFund program,” said Mike Smith, America West senior
vice president, marketing and sales.  “FlightFund members can now earn and
redeem miles on TWA`s vast network of service to 100 destinations in
17 countries worldwide.”

“We look forward to working with America West to make both Aviators and
FlightFund the most convenient and rewarding frequent flyer programs,” said
Don Casey, TWA`s executive vice president of marketing.  “Now Aviator members
throughout the western U.S. will be able to build miles any way their travel
takes them.  Our St. Louis hub opens new travel opportunities for FlightFund
members, as does TWA`s extensive Caribbean network focused on San Juan.”

FlightFund, America West`s worldwide frequent flyer program, offers
travelers a unique and flexible program with awards beginning at 20,000 miles.
New members will receive 2,500 miles after their first flight.  Customers who
are not already FlightFund members can contact the FlightFund Service Center
at 1-800-247-5691 to enroll or sign up on the Internet at http://www.americawest.com.

Aviators is the only frequent flyer program that allows members to qualify
for privilege membership levels based on dollars spent as well as miles flown.
Also through Aviators` exclusive Fare Rewards(SM) program, members can earn
one mile for each dollar paid for travel on premium fares.  This unique bonus
is in addition to all other miles earned and is designed to recognize the
difference between full-fare and discounted business travelers.

Aviators was launched May 1, 1998.  Membership information and enrollment
are available by calling TWA at 1-800-221-2000 or by logging on to TWA`s
website at http://www.twa.com.

TWA flies approximately two million passengers per month on more than
825 daily flights to 100 destinations (including seasonal service) in North
America, the Caribbean, Europe and the Middle East.  Frequent Flyer
magazine/J.D. Power and Associates recently ranked TWA the number one airline
in frequent traveler satisfaction for short flights, meaning domestic flights
of less than 500 miles, in 1999.

America West Airlines, the nation`s ninth-largest carrier, serves more
than 140 destinations in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.  America West is a
wholly owned subsidiary of America West Holdings Corporation, an aviation and
travel services company with 1999 sales in excess of $2.2 billion.
