America West Airlines` Web Site Receives More Than One Million User Visits In August

America West Airlines today announced
that it surpassed one million user visits to its Web site,, for the month of August.  In addition to reaching this
milestone, revenue from the Airline`s Web site for the month of August
increased 300 percent from the previous year to $6 million or more than three
percent of total passenger revenue.

“America West has enjoyed great success with its Web site,” said Bernie
Han, senior vice president, planning.  “We attribute the growth of our site to
recent product enhancements and architecture improvements, as well as our
10-week Summer of Savings Internet sale which included the innovative Wheel of
Savings promotion.”

America West`s Web site offers a variety of services and data on the
Airline.  Visitors can book and purchase their entire flight itinerary via  They can also check flight schedules, make advanced seat
assignments or enroll in the frequent flyer program, FlightFund.  In addition,
when customers purchase tickets through the America West Web site and travel
by Dec. 31, 1999, they will receive 1,000 FlightFund bonus miles.  And as
previously announced, now through Dec. 31, 1999, customers who book online can
earn 2,000 minimum miles per segment in addition to the 1,000 bonus miles for
travel between Phoenix and destinations in California, Oregon and Washington.
