America West Airlines Elects Kathleen Doyle Vice President And General Counsel

America West Airlines (NYSE: AWA) today
announced the election of Kathleen Doyle as vice president and general
counsel.  Doyle will be responsible for all legal affairs for the Company,
including the engagement and supervision of counsel retained by the Company.
 
“Kathleen`s legal expertise and negotiating skills have proved very
valuable to the Airline,” said Stephen L. Johnson, senior vice president,
corporate affairs.  “During her more than two years with America West, she has
consistently demonstrated the ability to successfully manage complex legal
transactions.”

Doyle was formerly the senior director, legal affairs for the Company.
Prior to joining America West, she was in private practice with the English
law firm Freshfields in London for approximately five years, where her work
focused on aircraft and other asset-based finance.  Before that, she was
associated with Bogle & Gates in Seattle, Washington.  Doyle is a member of
the Washington State Bar Association and is a solicitor qualified in England
and Wales.  She received a bachelor`s degree in history and a law degree from
the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington.
