Delta Connection to Offer Nonstop Jet Service Between Columbus, Ohio and Orlando, Tampa, Fla.

Delta Connection will offer customers jet service between Columbus, Ohio and the Florida cities of Orlando and Tampa beginning Nov. 1, 2002. Delta Connection carrier Chautauqua Airlines will operate three daily, nonstop round-trip flights between Columbus and both Orlando and Tampa using 50-seat Embraer regional jets (ERJ).
“Delta Connection’s new service will provide customers with a convenient link between two key Florida cities and Columbus, an important business center and Ohio’s capital,” said Fred Buttrell, president and chief executive officer, Delta Connection, Inc.

As Delta Connection introduces the new service, Delta Express will discontinue its service from Columbus to Orlando and Tampa.

Designed for customer comfort, the ERJ features large overhead bins and one-by-two seating, with no middle seats. The ERJ is powered by Rolls Royce engines and is able to cruise at up to 37,000 feet, offering customers a smooth ride.

Delta Connection includes wholly owned subsidiaries Atlantic Southeast Airlines and Comair, additional regional carriers Atlantic Coast Airlines, Chautauqua Airlines and SkyWest Airlines, and codeshare partner American Eagle. Delta Connection carriers operate more than 250 regional jets throughout North America. For more information, please contact delta.com.
