Today, 10 May 1999, the Sales organisation of KLM in Italy was fully integrated into Alitalia`s, which manages all commercial activities for the Alitalia`s domestic market from its Direzione Vendite Italia (Italian Sales Department).

The integration is part and parcel of the alliance agreements signed by the two Airlines and implies that the Alitalia sales personnel will deal with all commercial matters presented by KLM customers.

The Alitalia departments will thus be further manned by sales staff currently working at KLM premises.

The event comes as a counterpart initiative, which reflects a similar integration of Alitalia`s commercial affairs and personnel into KLM-Benelux in Holland on 6 April 1999.
