Air Pacific has completed an agreement with American Airlines for codeshare on flights between Nadi to Los Angeles.
All Air Pacific flights will carry the American Airlines flight number. This will make bookings easier for United States tourists to travel from a number of cities in America to Fiji.
American Airlines has one of the largest networks which will add to the marketing power of Fiji. This will be supported by their sales teams who have constant direct contact with all US travel agents.
Mr Michael McQuay, Managing Director and CEO of Air Pacific said, “with the codeshare agreement with American Airlines, Fiji will now have wide representation in the United States. The agreement also allows Air Pacific to sell through flights to a number of cities serviced by American, bringing the benefits to all Fiji consumers.
Air Pacific has been the catalyst in developing the United States market since commencing operation in 1994. The 4th Los Angeles service launched in October 1998 provides additional opportunity for growth to Fiji.”
Mr Michael McQuay also stated that “Air Pacific`s strength within the South Pacific provides enormous opportunity for American Airlines and their customers to access important tourism destinations and in particular, Fiji”.
The new codeshare agreement is part of Air Pacific`s overall strategy for developing the US market. Air Pacific now flies four times a week to Los Angeles using Boeing 747 aircraft and 4 times a week to Honolulu with the Boeing 767.
American visitors to Fiji have shown strong growth since Air Pacific entered the US market in 1994.
