Air Malta CargoSystem, the cargo division of the airline has launched its “Express time- definite brand product ‘PremiumCargo’, as a continuation of Air Malta’s strategy to offer the best product and services to its clients. With effect from 1st June, 2002 shippers and forwarders would be able to make use of this product to all destinations served by the national carrier.
Air Malta’s CargoSystems Sales Manager, Mr. Henry Farrugia explained that “Express time-definite cargo is being recognised as an important and preferred mode of transport, especially in to-day’s competitive environment where reduced cycles are playing a major part in creating competitive advantage. Demand for guaranteed air cargo services is on the increase, fully justifying the increased commitment by exporting companies to the market sectors they serve. This is the first step as it is our intention to expand this product from all our stations to Malta in the very near future”.
“PremiumCargo” will offer priority booking and performance guarantee set against the ‘flown as booked’ concept. This product will provide the local exporting industry the facility to book urgent shipments, especially those falling within the category of minus 100 kilogrammes, in the full knowledge that priority loading will be provided throughout the Air Malta network.
“PremiumCargo” is expected to add value for money to shippers and forwarders. It will distinguishes itself from other cargo products carried by the airline, as an example performance guarantees against full refund of the applicable air freight charges plus free transportation in the unlikely event of service failures. “PremiumCargo” will also benefit from priority booking; reduced ground time; pre-alerts to airport of destination; and tracking/tracing facilities on AirMalta’s website: www. airmalta.com.
With a view to simplify the use of this product by shippers, forwarders and agents, the airline will offer a common rating arrangement for three separate areas, namely United Kingdom/Ireland/Scandinavia; Italy & Sicily; and All other destinations served by Air Malta. The rate structure will consists of three GROSS air cargo rates, that is Minimum Charge; Normal rate and plus 50 kilogrammes. In addition to this new product, Air Malta will continue to offer competitive and special air cargo rates for all types of general cargo commodities not defined as express time-definite cargo.
“PremiumCargo” sales and reservations are available through all local cargo agents or directly from Air Malta CargoSystems Sales (tel:+356 22994352/22994145 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org).
