The Aer Lingus Board met in its headquarters in Dublin yesterday and was updated on the current state of the industry, the trading position of Aer Lingus and the plan being prepared by management to address the very serious issues facing the airline.
A spokesman said the business plan which is aimed at securing the long-term viability of the Company is “at an advanced stage”. The plan is expected to be finalised within the next week when it will be presented to Government.
Staff and their representatives will be provided with a briefing on the situation today, Wednesday, October 10th and the Company said it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.
